Using it without saving

You don’t need an account. The homes and places you enter are kept in your own browser, so a refresh loses nothing, and stay there until you clear them or start a new comparison. A small cookie remembers which city you picked.

Working out driving times

To find a commute, our server sends TomTom the two points on the map (a home and a place) and a departure time. Address searches go to TomTom the same way. The answers are shown to you and then forgotten: Living In never stores route times.

When you save or share

Saving makes a guest account in your browser, with no name or email. We store the comparison: its name, the names you typed for people, homes and places, where each one is on the map, rents, visits a week or month, and the features you ticked. Addresses from the map aren’t stored; they’re looked up again when you open it.

Guest comparisons are deleted 30 days after they were last opened. Anyone with a share link can see that comparison until you choose Stop sharing.

Signing in with Google

Only if you choose to. Google tells us your name, email address and profile picture link, and we use them only to keep your comparisons with your account so they’re on any device. Comparisons in a Google account stay until you delete them.

Who handles it

• Vercel hosts the site and sees requests like any web host.
• Supabase holds saved comparisons and runs sign-in.
• TomTom answers address searches and driving times.
• Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is asking before driving times are worked out or a comparison is first saved. It runs in your browser and Cloudflare sees the signals it uses for that check.
• OpenFreeMap serves the map; your browser fetches its tiles directly.
• Google handles sign-in, if you use it.

Deleting your data

Delete any comparison from Saved homes. To remove your account and everything in it, email das.ayush2011@gmail.com and it will be gone within 30 days.
